In our day and age surveillance is easier than ever. Not only companies and governments can set up their ever-seeing eye, but a regular citizen can use small cameras to watch over his home or any place he or she wants as well. However, in order to do that, people need software. And iSpy is a program just for those purposes.
The main function of iSpy is in the name. It is a piece of spy software, but not in malware of virus sense, but in a direct, real-life way. It is used as a program which interacts with web cameras or microphones you set up to observe specific rooms. All you have to do is connect a camera to your PC and then launch the program. iSpy will immediately recapture the image on the camera and display it in its interface windows. Any movement will be caught on camera with the option to save the recording on your hard drive in the AVI format.
Of course, iSpy works not just in record mode. With it, you can monitor the rooms remotely in live mode. It even uses a web-server which helps the program run fast and stable to show live feed remotely, both video and audio. All you need to do to watch live feed from any remote location is register at the developer's website and access your personal profile. Due to the web-based nature, iSpy can be used on several devices and with several cameras. This allows for creating a rather solid and reliable surveillance system using only amateur-level equipment. more

Would be nice if this became available to use on Linux, Raspberry Pi as the hardware is there, less power consumption, and you can use a bunch of thumb drives on a USB hub for storage. If this could happen, it would be that much better!
